THE BEVERLY DRESS

1950’s inspired short length, A-line, black-multi boucle sleeveless dress. Features a rounded square front neckline, snap fastening along center front to provide easy access for breastfeeding, finished with crafted emerald resin buttons. Detailing welt flap front pockets and center-back topstitched seam. Paired with black-multi boucle culottes, full-cut and gathered at upper thigh.

Pair with the matching Beverly Jacket.

BEHIND THE SEAMS

When producing polyamide, a greenhouse gas called nitrous oxides is released as waste. This gas lasts for 150 years. Nylon production accounts for 1/10 of the annual 0.2% increase in atmospheric levels of the gas, which assists in the destruction of the ozone. The production of acrylic has negative environmental impacts. Acrylic is created when energy is applied to fossil fuels and can last up to 200 years before decomposition.

Our black-multi boucle polyamide acrylic is a fabric that was produced by a larger design house. The full quantity was not used by them and would have ended up in a landfill. So, we saved the fabric, the abundant resources and energy used to create it, and chose to give this deadstock fabric a second life, as our classic Beverly Dress.

Choosing deadstock fabric is one important step towards effectively breaking the harmful cycle. Our brand believes in saving our planet and minimizing our waste, water and energy footprint wherever we can. We strive to be a part of the emergent movement towards sustainable fashion.
